Wings Over Scotland's Stuart Campbell will not face harassment charges

Wings Over Scotland's Stuart Campbell will not face any charges relating to his recent arrest.

Stuart Campbell was arrested in August on "suspicion of harassment and malicious communications". He was subsequently bailed pending further enquiries.

It is understood that a woman in her 30s reported Mr Campbell at a south London police station, where she alleged the harassment had taken place over a two year period.

The Metropolitan Police issued a statement saying Police in Southwark had investigated the allegations and that Stuart Campbell has been informed that he is released with no further action.

Stuart Campbell, who is originally from Stirling, runs his pro-independence operation from Bath, England. Significant funds are raised using crowdfunding.

Aberdeen Donside MSP Mark McDonald has quit the Scottish National Party (SNP).

His resignations follows allegations of misconduct against at least two women.

McDonald resigned from the SNP with immediate effect - but will remain as an Independent MSP.
