The memorandum was signed with the consortium, which is made up of SinoFortone and China Railway No. 3 Engineering Group, in a shroud of secrecy.
It causes further embarrassment for Nicola Sturgeon as the collapse of the deal wasn't announced either. It is thought to have collapsed months ago.
Following the secrecy surrounding the Chinese deal, and its subsequent collapse, Nicola Sturgeon's hypocrisy is being highlighted once again. it is understood that the SNP has submitted a Freedom of Information request to obtain the details of a letter sent to Nissan on the government's Brexit plans.
SNP MSP Richard Lochhead has even had the brass neck to complain: "It is unacceptable that the UK government is conducting backroom Brexit deals with multi-national companies at the same time as they are keeping the public and devolved governments in the dark".
The SNP don't seem to understand that the Nissan deal will save thousands of jobs - where the SNP Chinese deal with a consortium accused of corruption achieved nothing but ridicule.
