SNP MP Tasmina Ahmed Sheikh: 'I have no outstanding personal tax liability whatsoever with HMRC'

SNP MP Tasmina Ahmed Sheikh has gone on the offensive rubbishing allegations that HMRC have two cases to be heard which concern her.

Tasmina Ahmed Sheikh has pinned a tweet to her Twitter account making if clear that she has "no outstanding personal tax liability whatsoever with HMRC".

The full tweet says: "Contrary to reports I have no outstanding personal tax liability whatsoever with HMRC, and have received no notification of any court action"

She has also posted an image with the following text:

"From Tasmina Ahmed Sheikh MP:

This story is ridiculous. I have no outstanding personal tax liability whatsoever with HMRC, and have received no notification of any court action.

Any possible proceedings would concern Hamilton Burns, a law firm I left in May 2015 following my election,

The idea that there is a possibility of bankruptcy is absurd and a crude attempt to smear my reputation. I will now consider what legal action is open to me against the politics Home website to address their nonsensical story."

The Companies House records do show that Tasmina Ahmed Sheikh did resign from the company after the General Election in 2015.

"HMRC v Tasmina Ahmed-Sheikh is listed as a "sequestration" case and due to call at court on January 27" and "HMRC v Hamilton Burns WS Ltd, is due to call on January 11".

Tasmina Ahmed Sheikh has made it crystal clear that she has "received no notification of any court action".
