Three men and two women are alleged to have arranged and facilitated travel to the UK of three named women and others.
The three men are Vojtech Gombar, 59, Anil Wagle, 36, and Rastislav Adam, 29. The two women are Jana Sandorova, 26, and Sylvia Racov, 41.
They are all alleged to have taken part in the offences "with the intention of exerting control over prostitution by said women, and others there or elsewhere". They all also face a second charge under the Asylum and Immigration Act that they facilitated the travel of the people to the UK "with intent to exploit".
Sheriff Martin Jones QC adjourned the case until a later date and continued bail.
