It is estimated that almost £470,000 PER DAY is being spent on agency staff - proving the NHS has a shocking staff shortage.
The SNP constantly say they are opposed to using the private sector - but these figures prove otherwise.
Use of the private sector has soared in Grampian and Glasgow.
Health Secretary, Shona Robison, had to release the figures after questions from Miles Briggs, the Tory health spokesman.
Miles Briggs said:
“The SNP mismanagement of the NHS has clearly led to a long term reliance on agency staff at very high cost.
“These figures expose the hypocrisy of the SNP as they have spoken against private involvement in the NHS while spending half a million pounds a day to agency staff.”
The Scottish Government said using agency staff was a “last resort”, adding: “All NHS boards have action plans in place to reduce the use of agency staff.”
